Jean Monneret (1922–2025) was a French painter, lithographer and sculptor associated with the post-war École de Paris. Born in Chalon-sur-Saône, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lille before continuing at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1944 to 1949 under Jean Dupas. His figurative paintings are characterised by expressive, graphic outlines and a distinctive modern style. Monneret was also a respected teacher and served as president of the Salon des Indépendants from 1977 to 2001.
