Biography
Helmer Forslund (1920–1975) was a Swedish painter known primarily for his atmospheric landscape paintings, with subjects drawn from Värmland, Skåne, and France. He studied in Stockholm and undertook extensive study travels throughout Europe, which influenced his broad yet distinctly Scandinavian painterly style. Working mainly in landscape painting, Forslund developed a reputation for capturing quiet rural scenes and expressive natural light. He is regarded as an important figure in the continuation of Värmland’s artistic tradition and contributed significantly to the region’s post-war visual culture.
