Wilhelm Stumpf (1873–1926) was a German painter associated with Impressionist and Naturalist traditions. He is best known for his portraits, interior scenes, and sensitively observed depictions of everyday life, often characterised by a muted palette and refined handling of light. Stumpf studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and later became a respected member of the Munich art scene, exhibiting widely during his lifetime. His work reflects a quiet, intimate approach to subject matter, bridging late 19th-century realism with early 20th-century modern sensibilities.
