Henri Alphonse Barnoin (1882–1940) was a French painter best known for his Impressionist-influenced landscapes and coastal scenes of Brittany. Born in Paris, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and was a pupil of the marine painter Lucien Simon.

Barnoin spent much of his career painting in the Breton towns of Concarneau and Douarnenez, where he produced lively harbour views, market scenes and depictions of Breton life. Working with a bright palette and fluid brushwork, his paintings capture the changing light and atmosphere of the region.

His work was exhibited regularly in Paris, including at the Salon des Artistes Français, and today his paintings are held in several French museum collections. Barnoin’s scenes of Brittany remain particularly sought after for their colour, charm and strong decorative appeal.
