Eskil Skans was a Swedish painter and illustrator born in 1905. He studied at the Technical School in Malmö in the 1920s and later continued his training under the painter Anders Olson. During his early career he travelled and studied in Paris, southern France and Italy, experiences that helped shape his artistic outlook and broaden his approach to landscape painting.

Skans exhibited from the 1940s onwards and became known for his atmospheric landscapes, coastal scenes and still lifes. Working primarily in oil and watercolour, his paintings often capture the quiet light and natural character of the Scandinavian landscape. Alongside his painting, he also worked as a press illustrator, and his work is represented in Swedish museum collections including Kristianstad Museum.
